Beginner Golf Lessons - Winter I 2025

This beginner golf lesson program is designed to introduce new players to
the fundamentals of golf in a supportive and engaging environment. Over five weeks,
participants will learn essential skills, rules, and etiquette, ensuring they have a solid foundation
to enjoy the game.

Program Objectives:
1. Develop basic golf skills including grip, stance, and swing.
2. Understand the rules and etiquette of golf.
3. Build confidence on the course.
4. Foster a love for the game of golf.

Weekly Breakdown:

 
Week 1: Introduction to Golf ( Week of 2/23)
Introduction to golf equipment (clubs, balls, tees).
Basic grip and stance fundamentals.

Week 2: The Full Swing
-Focus on the full swing technique.
-Drills to improve swing mechanics.

Week 3: Continuing The Full Swing Dynamics
-Focus on the full swing technique.
-Drills to improve swing mechanics.

Week 4: Short Game Basics
-Introduction to chipping and putting.
-Understanding the importance of the short game.
-Practice drills for chipping and putting.

Week 5: Play at X-Golf Simulators
-Supervised play at X-Golf Simulators
-Review of skills and techniques.
-Final tips for continued improvement and enjoyment.

2025 Spring Travel Soccer Tryout - Spring 2025

Soccer Tryouts on January 23 and 25 for Girls 2012, Boys 2014, and Boys 2015.

Spring Lacrosse 2025 - Spring 2025

Welcome to the Hillcrest Lacrosse Program!  Registration is now open for the following programs:

Clinic Grades K-2 (coed) (no equipment needed)

 Boys 3rd and 4th Grade Travel Team

Boys 5th and 6th Grade Travel Team

Boys 7th and 8th Grade Travel Team

Girls 3rd and 4th Grade Travel Team

Girls 5th and 6th Grade Travel Team

We will not be having a Girls 7th and 8th Grade Team for Spring 2024.  

Clinic participants do not need their own equipment.  We will provide them with what is needed.

All players on any of the lacrosse teams will be required to supply their own equipment.  Boys will need a helmet, stick, cup, padding, gloves, and mouthpiece.  Girls will need a stick and goggles (or a girl's helmet if desired).  Note that the boys and girls sticks are different.

All players for travel teams will be required to purchase their uniforms directly from the vendor.  We will provide the site to do so in February. Players can use their uniforms from last year if so desired.  We encourage early registration to ensure timely delivery of uniforms!    

Practices are usually held Friday nights and Saturday mornings or afternoons at Tibbetts (depending on field availability), as well as Tuesday evenings at Roosevelt.  The travel teams will start practicing around mid to end of March.  The clinic will start in mid-April.  We welcome multi-sport athletes!  We look forward to working with your children and having a fun Spring 2025 lacrosse season.

Spring 2025 Baseball - Spring 2025

13u (travel only): 13 years old (some 12*)

Majors (in house): 10-12 years old

Minors (in house): 8-9 years old (some 7s and some 10s*) 

Age determined based on Little League rules (9/1 birth date cut off). 

*Division placement to be determined based off league evaluations.

14u-18u spring travels teams can be formed IF there is enough interest (players and coaches). If we receive enough interest, we will reach out regarding registration.

2025 Spring Soccer Programs (Little Crushers/Core) - Spring 2024

Little Crushers - PreK4, PreK and Kindergarten

Saturdays, starting March 29.  Season ends June 14.  Players will need a size 3 soccer ball and all participants will receive a team shirt.

Core Fundamentals (1st & 2nd grade)

One practice per week with NYCFC coaches.  Games are Saturdays at Khalil Gibran between 9 AM and 1 PM.  All games are interleague.  Uniform purchase required for new players.  You will receive information after registering. Practice begins the week of March 24.

Core Soccer - Fundamentals

Core Primary (3rd thru 8th grade)

One practice per week with NYCFC coaches.  Games are Sundays after 12 PM.  We participate in the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).  All games are in Westchester County. Uniform purchase required for new players. This year all players are required to purchase a Red and White Jersey.  The Red Jersey is the same as last season.  You will receive information after registering.  Practice begins the week of March 24.
